Asustek has released the 10.1-inch Asus Eee PC 1001PX netbook, featuring the Intel Atom N450 processor and a lid finish that “looks like carbon fiber”.The Asus Eee PC 1001PX is available in two versions. The first is with Windows 7 operating system, a 250 GB hard drive and a 6-cell battery for 9 hours of run time, and the second with Windows XP OS, a 160 GB HDD and 3-cell battery which provides 5 hours of operation.
Both versions include 1GB DDR2 RAM, 802.11n WiFi, Ethernet LAN, a 0.3MP web camera, three USB ports, a memory card reader and a VGA port.
Currently, the Asus Eee PC 1001PX is distributed only in Europe. The price for Windows XP version is 241 Euros ($325), while the Windows 7 version costs 300 Euros ($405).
There’s no info on availability in the US.
