Apple MacBook Pro MC371LL/A – Cheapest Core i5/i7 Model

Apple’s MacBook Pro MC371LL/A model that can be found at various online retailers and the Apple store is the cheapest 15.4″ MacBook Pro that includes the new 2010 Intel Core processors.
The MacBook Pro is available with the 2.53GHz Intel Core i5 (MC372LL/A) and 2.66GHz i7 (MC373LL/A) CPUs, but the MC371LL/A has the Core i5 at 2.4GHz. Its HDD is 320GB, whereas the higher-end systems come with 500GB of storage.
Macbook Pro MC371LL/AOther features are the same in all three notebooks: the switchable graphics solution combining the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256MB (512MB in MC373LL/A) video card for higher performance and Intel’s integrated GPU for longer battery life, a 1440×900 LED-backlight glossy display, 4GB of DDR3 memory, the SuperDrive DVD burner, the aluminum Unibody enclosure, and Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.
For customers who want to upgrade the standard 2.4GHz Core i5 MacBook Pro, Apple store provides a couple of optional choices including 500GB HDD or up to 512MB solid state drive, 8GB RAM, and 1680-by-1050 anti glare or glossy display.
According to Apple, the new 15.4″ MacBook Pros deliver 8 to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The notebook includes glass Multi-Touch trackpad and illuminated keyboard, iSight video camera, stereo speakers, AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth, Gigabit LAN, two USB 2.0 ports, Mini DisplayPort output with support for DVI, VGA, dual-link DVI, and HDMI via separately sold adapters, an SD card slot, and a FireWire 800 port.
The MC371LL/A weighs 5.6lbs is priced at $1,740 at MacMall. The same laptop at the Apple Store is $1,799.
